Hell’s Greatest Hits
A quote often attributed to 18th century Scottish writer and politician Andrew Fletcher describes the power of music:
Let me make the songs of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws.
I agree. Songs can move us to good or evil like few things on earth.
Music is a gift from God to angels and humans to express their worship of Him and celebrate the wonders of His world. The biggest book in the Bible is Music–the Psalms (Songs). Music will be perfected in heaven beyond our imagination.
However, since music has amazing influence, the powers of hell have used it in our fallen world to deceive people and draw them away from God’s reality and truth.
Here’s my take on Hell’s Greatest Hits…
Memorial Day 2021: The Bravest Boehme
My mom and I visited Sunset Lane today–our hometown cemetery–to honor loved ones on Memorial Day. The scenic property overlooking Sinclair Inlet was bedecked with American flags while hundreds stood for a military ceremony then visited nearby gravesites.
We walked the grounds and placed beautiful rhododendron from mom’s yard by the tombstones of our loved ones. We prayed, thanked God for their lives, their love of God and family, and their devotion to our country.
May coming generations continue to remember them.
Every Memorial Day I love to honor my “Uncle Dick” Boehme who gave his life for our freedom.
He is the Bravest Boehme.
The World Makes No Sense Without Tri-focal Vision
The May 24, 1982 entry on my “Life Calendar” records that I spent a day in Washington, D.C. with a spiritual leader who confirmed that I had a prophetic gift. No, not that kind of prophet (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah etc.). Just an individual with a calling to speak for God and an ability to “see” things that others miss.
Part of being prophetic (not pathetic) includes a spiritual warfare perspective—the ability to glimpse realities in the unseen realm. I submit to you that today’s world and all that is happening around us make no sense without tri-focal vision.
Here is what I mean.
