My View of the World – 2020
The second decade of the 21st century has begun and it’s easy to play off the number “2020.” For most of my life my vision was 20/800, corrected only by contact lenses. Since having cataract surgery, I can see “20/20” without help.
I’m also trying to spiritually glimpse what is in store for the planet in 2020 and beyond, and will do my best today to share what I “see.”
Here’s my view of the world in the year of our Lord 2020.
I Canceled My CT Subscription with Hope
On December 19, Mark Galli, the out-going editor of Christianity Today (CT), wrote an editorial supporting the impeachment of President Trump.
CT was started by Billy Graham in 1956.
There was a swift response from many Christian leaders, including Franklin Graham, who felt compelled to reveal that his father had voted for Donald Trump in 2016, and would have been greatly “disappointed” by the editorial.
I have subscribed to CT for decades because it was the preeminent faith-based magazine in America.
But I’ve cancelled my subscription–with hope.
Incarnation: God’s Love & Light
Darkness descended on the United States last week when the U.S. House of Representatives impeached President Trump on a party-line vote (with four Democrat defections).
It happened–despite any evidence of a crime–to nullify the votes of 63 million Americans in the 2016 election. It was a sad day for truth, democracy, fair elections and love and light.
Merry Christmas, America.
But the ugliness of this sin or all sins combined do not rank as the greatest power in the universe. This week we celebrate the awesome reality that will ultimately triumph in history.
The Incarnation of Jesus Christ: God’s Love & Light.
