My View of the World – 2020
The second decade of the 21st century has begun and it’s easy to play off the number “2020.” For most of my life my vision was 20/800, corrected only by contact lenses. Since having cataract surgery, I can see “20/20” without help.
I’m also trying to spiritually glimpse what is in store for the planet in 2020 and beyond, and will do my best today to share what I “see.”
Here’s my view of the world in the year of our Lord 2020.
I Hear a Cry of Desperation
As impeachment-mania rages in the mainstream media in the United States, and as President Trump counter punches Joe and Hunter Biden with allegations of nepotistic corruption in Ukraine and China, I hear some voices in the background.
They are extremely agitated, cunning, reckless, and running scared.
There are other voices I long to hear, but in today’s column I will focus on the background wails that seem to be rising in the United States and all over the world.
I hear a cry of desperation.
What We Can Learn From the Machines
You may have heard of reverse mentoring.
It happens when younger folk teach us older people how to do something–usually with technology (because they know more about it).
Today I want to reverse teach–that is, take something that is often hurtful and use its example for good.
A well-known news broadcaster often talks about the negative influence of the “machines” in our modern world. He’s referring primarily to cell phones–which are becoming powerfully addictive.
Let’s flip it around.
Here’s what we can learn from the machines.
