Alice Cooper Comes Home to Jesus
I remember two famous “Coopers” in my youth. D.B. Cooper hijacked an airplane and “parachuted out” in my home state never to be heard from again. The other was Alice Cooper, a guy with a weird name who became a legendary rock star.
I hadn’t thought of Alice Cooper for many years when a friend of mine splashed a headline that made my heart sing.
Here is a thanksgiving story about how Alice Cooper came home to Jesus.
Yes, (State of) Virginia, There Is a God
“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” is a line from “Is There a Santa Claus?”–an editorial that appeared in an 1897 edition of the New York Sun. It ranks as the most reprinted newspaper editorial in the English language.
Virginia was a little girl who needed assurance of faith in Santa.
On November 9, 2016, I wrote an article called “Yes, Virginia, There’s a God in Heaven.” It chronicled the near “miracle” of a New York businessman Donald Trump defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.
Last week the State of Virginia proved people are wising up to tyranny in America and God is answering prayers.
Be encouraged.
Can God’s people help this political awakening go deep and wide?
We Must Revive the Triune Role of the Church on Earth
I was listening recently to a news anchor lament people leaving the Catholic Church. His theory about the exodus? The priests giving boring sermons that didn’t relate to people’s lives.
He’s right. Many church gatherings are routine, messages put people to sleep, and they lack a “God encounter” that excites and changes a person’s life.
But there’s more to it. The people of God–the Church–has at least three distinct roles to play in human life and culture. When any of them is missing or unclear, people wander from the faith and God’s work is diminished.
We must revive the triune role of the Church on earth.
