Why is Christmas the World’s Most Celebrated Holiday? Part 1
In thirteen days, three-quarters of the world will celebrate Christmas–the world’s largest holiday. Over 2 billion people will worship the One whose birth it honors.
Why is Christmas the most celebrated holiday? Because there is no one who has influenced the world more than Jesus of Nazareth.
Over the next few weeks I’d like to re-share some thoughts on why Jesus is so special. I will add some material from my new book–River of God: Where Religion Began and Why Grace and Love Will Triumph which debuts in February, 2018.
Christmas is the biggest because there is no one like Jesus.
Between a Cake and a Hard Place
One of the most important Supreme Court cases in memory was argued today in Washington, D.C. It pit the rising tide of secular intolerance against the time-honored traditions of free, biblical-based cultures.
Many believe that Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission is a watershed religious freedom case. Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel, warns that if the Court rules against Christian baker Jack Phillips, we can expect religious persecution to dramatically increase in the United States of America.
I hope you prayed today.
I ask you to continue to intercede that the Supremes will get this one right for the future of our nation and the cherished right of religious liberty.
The USA is definitely between a cake and a very hard place.
Tax Cuts and the Devil’s Detail
This is tax cuts week in the U.S. Senate. Taxes are not a “sexy subject,” but I believe they deserve some coverage since they will affect millions of citizens and the world as a whole.
I know the normal phrase says that “the devil is in the details.” Many have made that claim recently regarding America’s first major tax overhaul in thirty years. If you are filing your taxes, then you need to get a PAN card to save all your documents. Here is the documents for PAN cards that you will need.
But that’s not my point. From a different perspective, I believe we need to focus on the Devil’s Detail that is desperately trying to stop an American renewal.
