Destroyers and Rebuilders

Many terms are used today to describe the divide in America. Some view it as contest between political parties and their increasingly opposite worldviews. Others focus on the conservative or traditional philosophy of Americans as opposed to liberal or secular-progressive values.

In the matter of Dobbs v. Jackson–the abortion case now before the U.S. Supreme Court–it’s truly a matter of life versus death (of unborn babies). It doesn’t get starker than that.

I’d like to frame the problem as a battle between those who would destroy our faith, culture, and way of life, and those who are committed to reviving or rebuilding it.

The Pilgrim Legacy

I hope you prayed for the Dobbs v. Jackson abortion case that was argued today before the U.S. Supreme Court. After fifty years of the greatest holocaust in human history, this Mississippi appeal provides an opportunity to limit abortions in our nation or possibly reverse Roe v. Wade. 

The decision will not be announced until June 2022, but between now and then we must intercede for our justices to do right according to the U.S. Constitution, the laws of God, and the consciences of honest human beings.

The right to life in America–the most basic of human rights–goes back to the Pilgrims of Plymouth, Plantation. Here is the Pilgrim legacy we must renew in our day.

What the “D” Now Stands for Behind a Candidate’s Name

Though this is a mundane political year around the United States, October is still a month to focus on candidates and issues for upcoming November elections.

Our local ballot is small but filled with names that have an “R” or a “D” behind them.

The “D” once stood for a Democratic Party which championed democracy, the working class, and personal responsibility (remember JFK).
