Why American Communists Are Rising (And We’re Voting for Them)

Recent primary elections in various blue states showed a surge in communist candidates winning.

They call themselves socialists or democratic socialists (a misnomer). You can’t slap lipstick on a pig and say it’s not a swine. Communism is an evil, authoritarian/state-centered philosophy designed to destroy Judeo-Christian culture and its blessings.

It’s Lucifer’s politics come to earth.

So why are American Communists rising and we’re foolishly voting for them?

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are now more favorable among Democratic voters than congressional Democrats are (by plus 17 versus plus 4). “They’re a better brand at this point than Democrats in Congress.”

If this were just a protesting group, it would be sobering but not necessarily frightening. However, this is a real rising political movement. With each passing election, socialist Democrats are beating what they call “corporate Democrats” in primaries.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is their most famous winner so far. But this week, a series established Democrat incumbents were defeated in primaries by socialists. These incumbents were endorsed by House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is also from New York. The possible socialist takeover of the traditional Democratic Party is an increasingly realistic future.

The radicalism and anti-Americanism of these new socialist candidates should not be underestimated. If you think that is an extreme statement, consider these planks:

1.“Establish universal rent-control and the guaranteed right to counsel for all tenants. Public investment in building quality multi-income social housing.”

2. “Abolish mandatory minimums and cash bail, and demilitarize police departments.”

3. “Universal healthcare with no premiums, co-pays, or deductibles. Guarantees for reproductive and gender-affirming care.”

4. “A 32-hour work week with no reduction in pay or benefits.”

5. “Greatly reduce the U.S. military budget, close overseas bases, and bring troops home.

6. “Allow workers to freely migrate between countries to seek employment without restrictive immigration controls. Demilitarize the border, end all immigrant detention and deportations, immediate amnesty for all immigrants regardless of current immigration status, and provide access to jobs, labor rights, and social services to all immigrants.”

7.“Extend full voting rights to people with criminal convictions and noncitizens and establish statehood for Washington D.C.”

8. “End economic sanctions that impact the sovereignty of countries whose governments act independently of the United States, such as Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran.”

When the Democratic socialists have a 17-point favorable rating and the traditional Democrats have only a 4-point favorability rating, what does that tell us? The 2026 election will be the first time a substantial number of openly socialist and radical candidates will be running on the Democratic ticket.

So far, the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Mamdani wing is winning. Their energy, sense of conviction, aggressive moral posturing, and willingness to attack their opponents relentlessly and ruthlessly are carrying the day. Republicans still have not found the right words and images to communicate how crazy and destructive the socialist platform would be in the real world.

This is a reminder that the future of America is still being written. Will we continue the direction set by our 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence or repudiate it by voting for a wave of radicalism?

In many ways, this will be answered in November.

So why are socialists/communists rising in 2026 and why are Americans voting to become slaves and peasants of an all-powerful State?

Answer: Apathy, ignorance and deception.

First, apathy. Most of these candidates won their primaries because of low voter turnout. It’s a travesty of USA citizenship if you don’t vote in local, state, and federal elections. “All that’s necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing” (Edmund Burke). And, “We’ve given you a republic, Madame, if you can keep it” (Benjamin Franklin).

Professing Christians make up over 70% of he American electorate. But only half of them vote, even in presidential elections.

Do you mark your ballot for wise leaders and good policies in every election? It’s your duty and privilege.

Ignorance is not knowing what is good and true. Deception is being blinded from it by demonic forces.

The greatest reason for ignorance in America is the Church has failed to evangelize and disciple enough Americans the past two generations. We’ve allowed the biblical worldview to be usurped and even slandered by false, secular ideas.

Second, our lack of cultural engagement has allowed atheistic policies and norms to become more dominant in all our institutions from families to government. We’ve let demonic forces and their human stooges “run through our institutions.”

The “light” the Church should have created in our culture is being increasingly dimmed by rising anti-God forces–especially in brainwashing our children.

Here’s how it works.

The phrase “politics is downstream from culture” is a well-known idea popularized by the late conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart. It means that a society’s laws and politics follow cultural trends. Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying: “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next”

But “culture is also downstream from the Church” and its influence in American life. People are voting for socialist/ communists because the American Church is disengaged from the schools/numerous cultural issues and thus the public schools are teaching atheism/secularism.

It’s critical to understand that socialism is the economic philosophy of atheism. Capitalism (I prefer free enterprise) is the economic fruit of biblical values. Free enterprise comes from personal “self government” which produces enterprising freedom in individuals and nations powered by faith in God. Liberty unleashed maximizes goods and services and lowers prices due to competition.

Socialism/communism is faith in man which produces poverty and control of the masses at the hands of an all-powerful state/dictator. It limits freedom and creativity, empowers tyranny and wastes recourses–impoverishing nations.

Choose your God and you choose your economic future.

The Bernie Sanders of the world famously “blame the billionaires.” But the problem is not income disparity–the 10% rich  versus the 90% poor. Both free enterprise systems and communist expressions have rich people and the working class.

In free societies the uber-rich usually become successful by hard work and genius which create products or services that improve human life (e.g. Elon Musk). Most people in free societies (biblically-based) aren’t poor, but middle and upper- middle class because there’s freedom to “move up” if they put in the time and intellectual capital to succeed.

In socialist economies, the 10% rich are the political elite who grab power and control it. Most of the populace become  poor (not even middle class) due to lack of liberty and opportunity.

Don’t believe the lie that the problem in capitalist countries is greedy billionaires. They create millions of job. In socialist nations, the greedy “elites” take the money and power and impoverish everyone else.

Just look at the USSR, China, North Korea, Venezuela, Nicaragua etc. They produce primarily lower class incomes at the point of a gun–not the success of free markets.

Affordability is a problem today. But it was created by inflation due to big government spending (a socialist tenet). Electing outright socialist/communists will be like pouring gasoline on a fire. Only apathetic, ignorant, or deceived people would allow such a thing.

Make no mistake: the communists are coming because the American Church has failed to preserve the culture.

May God’s people become “light and salt” in the USA once again and stop the encroaching darkness.
