Forgiveness: The Greatest Mark of Knowing Jesus?
I took five hours Sunday, September 21, to watch live Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Service before 90,000 people in Glendale, Arizona. It was a moving experience–worth every minute.
It may be the greatest funeral ever witnessed in America because of technology which allowed us to “live” every moment of its grandeur.
The passing of other significant Americans (like Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) were viewed by larger larger processionals, but you didn’t hear all the words that video can capture and relay worldwide.
One theme stood out to me above the rest.

The Charlie Kirk Assassination: Unleashing a Turning Point Revival?
Charles James “Charlie” Kirk was assassinated by a 22-year-old gunman at 12:23 PM, Wednesday September 10, at an outdoor rally before thousands of students at Utah Valley University. The suspected killer was apprehended within days after an extensive manhunt and will probably face the death penalty.
I was leading an outreach meeting for my Class of ’71 classmates when phones began to buzz about the tragic events unfolding. The time and place is now etched in our minds as it was during the JFK assassination (1963), the Reagan attempted assassination (1981), and the 9-11 terrorist attacks (2001).
We ended our meeting by praying for Charlie’s family and movement while beseeching God for revival in America.

LA Wild Fires: Helping Hands & Pointing Fingers
Our hearts and prayers go out to Southern California due to the wildfires devastation.
We have two sons living in LA–one in West Hollywood who narrowly escaped the flames, and the other in Valley Village. We also have hundreds of friends and YWAMers living and serving there–so the devastation is close to home.
Our initial response should be “helping hands” in prayer, giving, and rebuilding. Our second must be “pointing fingers” at those who exacerbated the tragedy so future natural disasters can be mitigated.
