Seven Trumpets Blasts for Revival
Blowing a loud trumpet (shofar) was used for thousands of years to mobilize armies and rally people to action. Some are on the horizon in 2026 to call America and the world to spiritual awakening in Jesus.
I see at least seven major opportunities for revival explosions in the next nine months. They are designed to call the Body of Christ in the USA and elsewhere in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Here are the seven “trumpets” being prepared to sound. How should you and your church get involved?
Seven Trumpets Blasts for Revival
The seven “calls to prayer” in 2026 are:
- National Prayer Breakfast – February 5
- Season of Lent – February 18-April 2
- Easter Weekend – April 3-5
- The National Day of Prayer – Thursday, May 7
- Rededication of the USA as One Nation Under God – Sunday, May 17
- 250th Celebration of American Independence on Saturday, July 4
- The Midterm Elections on Tuesday, November 3
National Prayer Breakfast
The first took place last week in Washington D.C. on February 5 where national and international leaders gathered for the 74th annual National Prayer Breakfast. I’ve attended several of these “leadership prayer meetings” in past years. President Trump used last week’s National Prayer Breakfast to call the nation to celebrate 250 years of freedom and rededicate our nation to God.
Here’s the January 29 Proclamation he reaffirmed at the breakfast:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim 2026 as a Year of Celebration and Rededication. I call on every American to reflect upon and celebrate the wisdom and deeds of the heroes of our Founding who made the miracle of America possible. I call on parents to teach their children about America’s inspiring history, heritage, and heroes. I invite the world to come to our shores to experience the splendor, warmth, and hospitality of America. And I encourage all Americans — including businesses, churches, families, and the military — to observe this year, reflecting on the blessings our Nation has received, with appropriate programs, ceremonies, concerts, celebrations, and activities in their homes, schools, work, communities, military bases, and houses of worship.
Trump encapsulated his thoughts with what many people of faith already know: what makes America great is its foundation and national fabric woven through faith. “I’ve always said, you just can’t have a great country if you don’t have religion. You have to believe in something. You have to believe that what we’re doing, there’s a reason for it. There has to be a reason for it.”
Then hundreds of leaders prayed for revival in America and the world.
The Season of Lent – February 18 – April 2
Lent has served as a prominent 40-day period on the Church calendar for thousands of years to remember Jesus’ fasting in the wilderness as mentioned in Matthew 4. It is a time for fasting, self-reflection, repentance, and preparation. Lent is mainly practiced by Catholics and denominational churches.
I believe this year every believer in the USA needs to prepare their heart in repentance. I’m getting involved more than ever with special devotions, prayer times, and repentance. How about you?
Easter Weekend – April 3-5
Easter reminds us that the reconciliation of the world through Jesus’ death and resurrection is the apex history. On Good Friday we remember his sufferings and death (in our town we do a “Cross Walk” in prayer). Sunday we proclaim his glorious resurrection and offer of salvation for all who believe.
Let’s fill this Easter season with prayer walks, confessing our sins, and pointing our communities to faith in the Lord Jesus. Our church is renting the high school theater and believing God to bring 2000 people to four gatherings (in a town of 18,000). May Easter Sunday see an immense turning to Jesus “from sea to shining sea.”
National Day of Prayer – Thursday, May 7
Over forty thousand gatherings will take place around the United States on the NDP to pray for America. I participated in the national celebration for over 30 years in our nation’s capital. Get your church involved in the National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme: “Glorify God Among the Nations – Seeking Him in All Generations.”
May our 74th National Day of Prayer release a spirit of intercession for revival.
Rededication of the USA as One Nation Under God – Sunday, May 17
When President Trump talked about “renewing” America at the National Prayer Breakfast, he made an exciting announcement:
I am pleased to announce that on May 17, 2026 that we’re inviting Americans from all across the country to come together on our National Mall to pray, to give thanks, and to — we are going to do something that everyone said, like, ‘That’s tough.’ We’re going to rededicate America as ‘One Nation Under God.’ On May 17, we will re-dedicate America as ONE NATION UNDER GOD, right on the National Mall!
The entire room erupted in cheers.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, hundreds of thousands of believers will gather in our nation’s capital for a day of prayer and to affirm our covenant relationship to God. It is being called a “National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving in the spirit of Washington For Jesus 1980 (also ’84 and ’88), the October 4, 1997 Promise Keepers “Stand in the Gap” rally, and a number of large “TheCall” gatherings over 18 years in the 2000’s.
Our YWAM Renewal Team helped serve the 1980 WFJ gathering which brought hundreds of thousands of people to D.C. to pray for America. The “Morning in America” Reagan Revolution came six months later.
If you can’t go to Washington, D.C., organize a gathering in your church, town, or city. National gatherings for repentance, prayer, praise, and rededication are “points of light” in Israel’s history throughout the Old Testament.
America needs to be rededicated to God’s purposes in the 21st century.
250th Celebration of American Independence on Saturday, July 4
This year’s “4th of July”–officially the American Semiquincentennial–could be like no other as we celebrate the world’s longest-lasting democratic republic on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Another important national gathering will take place in the nation’s capital and “all across the fruited plain.”
Freedom 250 is the non-partisan organization leading the celebration of our Nation’s 250th birthday. They are making abundant resources available to make our nation’s 250th birthday a day of national renewal.
Midterm Elections – Tuesday, November 3
The first six trumpets all lead up to choosing our next slate of leaders during the 2026 midterm elections. These vital elections must be bathed in prayer so that we would choose and wise and respected leaders (Deuteronomy 1:13) to guide us during these tumultuous days.
Jenny O’Connell shares this important perspective about the May 17th “rededication day:’
President Trump’s remarks, as well as this call to prayer and rededication, recognize the fact that a country is only as strong as its citizens. Prayer not only strengthens but unites people in a common aim, focus, and purpose, and acknowledges the hand of God in the superintendence of the affairs of our state.
The Marxists, leftists, and atheists/agnostics will lose their minds and scream about separation of church and state. However, from the response to this announcement, it is clear that Americans are hungry for meaning, purpose, and a focus beyond themselves to something greater. This event offers an opportunity for discovery, reacquaintance, and most importantly, rededication.
Seven trumpeting events are calling us to God? What are his marching orders for you?
