My View of the World 2026
In the first blog of each new year, I like to share a personal perspective on what is happening in the world. I do this as one who reads, watches, prays, and senses a call to share what I “see.”
I want all of us to be modern-day sons of Issachar who “understand the times with a knowledge of what God’s people should do” (1 Chronicles 12:32).
Informed perspective gives us both the wisdom to act and peace to live by.
Here is my view of the world 2026. I welcome your comments.
My View of the World 2026
The recent capture of Venezuelan dictator and narco-terrorist Nicholas Maduro by U.S. forces shows how quickly the world (or hemisphere) can change.
If you’re looking for factual reporting on this “justice” operation, I recommend “Why Venezuelans Are Dancing in the Streets” (an honest local view of the Maduro capture) and another succinct strategic analysis by Michael Waller.
I view 2026 as an important “hinge-point year” for freedom. Depending on what happens in the United States (the leading driver of 21st century human liberty), the world will either swing toward an advance of freedom and blessing or retreat into chaos and tyranny.
Both options could produce a 50-year window of either incredible good or vast evil. I will leave the timing of Jesus’ Return/Last Days to God’s sovereignty (Matthew 24:36). I believe it could happen this century because of fulfilling the Great Commission and the technology in place for one world governance.
This year expect an epic USA-based cultural civil war including both revival for global blessing and resistance to advance evil.
The Resistance
We must not forget that resistance to all good originates in the demonic world. That’s one reason I re-read Frank Peretti’s This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness most Decembers to remind myself. You can’t understand world history without seeing the demonic deception, lies, false unity, and evil actions behind many global events.
In 2026, especially in the USA, the ideologies of Islam and atheism (socialism/communism) have joined together to stop a growing biblical awakening. Seattle elected a socialist mayor and New York, a Muslim communist, Mamdani, who believes: “We must move from the frigidity of rugged individualism to the warmth of collectivism.”
Nick Arama translates: “By the warmth of collectivism you mean the hell you have to go through under it? Or the warm blood of the many dead because of collectivist ideologies?
Arama exhorts all Americans: “The time for feckless hand-wringing must end now. The way ahead is not to complain but to campaign; not to lament, but to repent; not to hope for reform, but to advance it.”
The demonically-inspired resistance in the U.S. and around the world will increase this year using socialism/communism to weaken Western biblical values, including the highly deceptive Green Movement. The Daily Wire reports:
The green coalition is prepared to renew its attack on major, reliable energy sources, however, as the coalition pushes forward radical changes to the United States’ energy infrastructure such as those envisioned in the Green New Deal. The goal of the Green New Deal is to “decarbonize the U.S. economy within ten years,” according to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who helped write a resolution for the radical commitment in 2019.
The greatest stakes in the battle of freedom versus tyranny is the U.S. midterms in November. If Republicans (mostly biblical worldview) hold-and-or-expand both houses, then the resistance could be defeated–possibly for a generation. If Republicans lose either chamber, the Dems (totally atheist worldview) will double down on the expansion of tyranny.
We must bind the spiritual forces in prayer and pray for the conversion of many resisters.
Some of them “know not what they do.”
Revival
The USA and other parts of the world are experiencing spiritual renewal among young people, a widespread baptism revival coast-to coast, and cultural reform led by Turning Point USA after the assassination of its founder. “Charlie Kirk” was the number one Google search of 2025. TPUSA’s chapters are exploding nationwide in both faith and cultural action (voting and social reform).
The most read YouVersion Bible verse of 2025 (for the fourth time in five years) was Isaiah 41:10:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
The You Version folks believe that “this year, its rise feels different. Heavier. More urgent. More personal.”
We must move forward in faith, not fear.
Donald Trump’s administration is a major engine for faith and freedom in our time (whether you like his personality or not). He is the Teddy Roosevelt/FDR of the early 21th century. Stopping the southern border invasion, returning manufacturing to America, igniting an energy renaissance, and strongly supporting Freedom 250 in 2026–our 250th national birthday–will stoke the fires of cultural renewal.
If the American revival grows and the resistance recedes in 2026 (the midterms), a “golden age” of freedom, Good News, and prosperity could wash across the world. Elon Musk predicts that President Donald Trump’s administration will be followed by two terms of a JD Vance presidency.
Great blessing could follow if Europe returns to its Reformation roots, and Latin America sees the rebirth of various nations.
Newt Gingrich believes we should spend this year asking three large questions:
First, how did we become America and what are the lessons to be learned from the founding period? Second, what did we have to live through and achieve to remain America? We should be celebrating the 250th anniversary – and the great journey over two and a half centuries which has made us the freest, most prosperous, and most powerful nation in history. Third, with the momentum these principles and historic efforts created, can we achieve a Golden Age in which technology and entrepreneurship create new opportunities and solve old problems on a scale none of us could have imagined?
Donald Trump has ended eight wars and Ukraine-Russia may be within sight. China is still the world’s most problematic regime, but its foolish one child policy will neutralize its reach by century’s end through massive population loss. Iran could experience freedom in 2026.
It’s true that the explosion of AI will change the world both for good and for ill–just as Daniel was told by the angel (Daniel 12:4). We will lose jobs and gain new ones–requiring nimble hard work for job seekers.
The biggest economic concern remains the US debt at 38 trillion and total world debt at 346 trillion dollars. Financial collapse with the good guys in charge could lead to blessing. With the bad guys, a one world evil government.
What can we do to be faithful in 2026? Joseph Mattera mentions ten actions to prepare the way of the Lord:
- Heal the generational divide.
- Return to the wisdom of the just.
- Embrace humility instead of the spotlight.
- Accept the long preparation of God.
- Point everything back to Jesus.
- Refuse the fear of man — speak truth in love.
- Live a focused and simple life.
- Maintain unbroken focus on your calling.
- Know your assignment and stay in your lane.
- Commit to finish well, even through suffering.
I encourage to pray your biggest prayers, help start TPUSA chapters in your schools, and inspire local churches to do a Freedom 250 rally/gathering this summer. It’s time to lift Jesus higher in every dimension of life.
Erika Kirk has it right on our priorities for 2026:
“Choose prayer. Choose courage. Choose beauty. Choose adventure. Choose family. Choose a life of faith. Most importantly, choose Christ.”
Do it–in faith.

thank you for this Ron, we need this kind of encouragement! I will pass this on to Pastor, family and friends, we all need to become active in this, “Onward Christian Soldiers” and Pray !!
Ron, A fabulous article. You have a prophetic view of things to come. I’m thrilled with a recent development. I have a discipling relationship the past year plus with Kyrillo Budanov. He was head of military intelligence in Ukraine. He was just named Chief of Staff to Zelensky. He had been attempted to be fired by Yermak, the corrupt former chief of staff. Zelensky defended him. After meeting several days with him last January,
I asked him for his takeaway. He said, “Let your yes be a yes and your no be a no. Anything other than that is fro the evil one”. He got it. We have been together several times—he is a brother in Jesus Christ. I sent him a video, congratulated him on just turning 40–half of what I am. He is God’s person there. Pray for him. Love you, friend. Doug
