Seventeen Months to Revive America?

I recently shared on the National Day of Prayer and spiritual awakening in America. That day President Trump held an event with faith leaders and announced confidently, “We’re bringing religion back to our country.” He then signed an executive order establishing a Religious Liberty Commission that will run until July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of American Independence.

Seven days after the NDP, the largest single day of baptisms in U.S. history took place in Huntington Beach, California, where 30,000 gathered from 500 churches and over 7,700 people were baptized.

God is on the move.

In this generation, might we have 17 months to revive America?

In this post I will suggest that the next 6, 13, and 17 months may be crucial to America’s future. I will explain why those numbers are important. 

But first, let’s look at today.

The Trump “First 100 Days” have been a blur of activity rarely seen in the U.S.A. Regarding of what you think about President Trump, he is moving with amazing energy and speed to change the direction of America. 

As of this writing, the 47th president has signed 147 executive orders in his first 100 days–far more than any other chief executive. He is a man on a mission, and I couldn’t agree more with the direction. On a personal level he knows he has only four years to make his imprint, and at 78 years of age, knows the clock is ticking.

In those same 100 days, the Administration has amazingly sealed the southern border–with illegal crossings down 93%. President Biden told the American people that he needed a “comprehensive immigration bill” to stop the flow. That was a lie. All we needed was a new president to enforce the law.

The American people voted for Donald Trump on this issue, and he kept his promise–in record time.

President Trump also promised to unleash American energy from the onerous Biden regulations that made inflation soar. In just 100 days he has done so, though it will take some time to be felt by every American household. Victor Davis Hanson declared, “Trump has revolutionized energy in 100 days.”

VDH describes Trump’s first 100 days as the “Most dramatic counter-revolution in our history. We’ve never seen anything like it.” He also believes “Democrats are terrified that Trump will succeed while they undergo a changing of the guard.”

Many are calling the Trump Administration “disruptive” and “chaotic. I call it courageous and necessary to save the United States from spiritual, social, and economic disaster being pushed for decades by progressives, atheists, and the demonic world.

The Biden Administration was incompetently leading us toward destruction. The goal was American collapse, the rise of totalitarian socialism, and the “Reset” of globalism (one world government). 

The Trump team is trying to bring peace to the world and revive America. The latter has been my calling for half a century and the name of this blog for 17 years.

It could happen in the next 17 months. 

Spiritual Renewal

The new administration is committed to renewing America’s spiritual/biblical foundations as seen at the recent National Day of Prayer, a new “Faith Office” in the White House, and championing numerous faith-based ideals such as free speech, pro-life, strong families, and school choice.

It will take an “awakening” in the American Church to completely reshape our national vision and morals. But that revival has begun and could explode during the run up to America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026–especially if our celebrations include days of prayer, fasting, and solemn assemblies to renew the American covenant with God.

How about a 21st century version of “Washington for Jesus” during the week run-up to July 4, 2026 (a Saturday)?

Let’s make that a 13-month prayer goal (aided by a supportive White House).

Social Renewal

We are also seeing a great reversal in moral/social trends led by the Trump White House. EO’s have been launched to get trans men out of women’s sports (a no brainer). Others are helping to dethrone DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in business and academia.

They insidiously served as the new racism/bigotry of our time. 

“Woke” is suddenly out of vogue (as it should be). Good movies are being encouraged in Hollywood. Pro-life supporters are no longer being persecuted, and “lawfare” is ending against innocent politicians and ordinary citizens.

The Church must lead this social/moral renewal of American society because we are “the salt of the earth and the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13-16). Good laws are defensive. The Church must go on offense to bring faith and goodness back into the mainstream of American life.

Economic Renewal

This is President Trump’s strength as a successful businessman. He understands like few leaders the plight of the working class, the looming catastrophe of our 38 trillion dollar debt, and the unfairness of foreign trade. The “Tariff Reset” (this week with China and many more to follow), the proposed tax cuts, and multi-trillion dollar new investment capital pouring into the USA (most recently Saudi Arabia) could greatly help revive the American Dream. 

It’s quite ironic that America’s wealthiest president seems to care more about working Americans than all the 45 chief executives that preceded him.

I believe Donald Trump has six months to reboot American economic stability and confidence in future growth. Signs already point to a positive major political alignment of African Americans who now back the president’s policies by nearly 40% and Hispanics at 47%.

That could spell doom to the already-fragile Democrat coalition.

A recent Rasmussen poll shows 49% of Americans believe the U.S. is headed in the right direction (to 46% who don’t). That’s the highest in 20 years (this poll tends to be pessimistic). 

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich in “The Coming Trump Boom” predicts:

By the summer of 2026, we should be in the early stages of what will come to be known as the Trump Boom. The mood of the country will quickly turn from the despondency and lack of spirit so evident under President Biden to a new optimism. Hard working Americans will be enabled to create better futures for themselves, their families – and all of us. The Trump Boom will be historic – but we must work to make it happen.

Steve Strang of Charisma Magazine shares the bigger picture:

It’s a spiritual clash. A global reset is underway, and Satan is throwing everything he can to disrupt God’s timeline. But God always has a remnant, and Trump, love him or hate him, is part of it.

As we look ahead to the rest of 2025, the stakes are monumental. We’re seeing glimmers of revival—pockets of awakening on college campuses, in public squares and yes, even in D.C. But we’re also seeing a fierce backlash from the enemy. This is the hour for bold intercession, spiritual warfare and civic engagement. Trump may be in the Oval Office, but the church must take her position on the wall.

My time prediction for igniting an American renaissance is an educated guess. I believe we need 6-12 months to reboot the economy, 13 months of growing spiritual renewal before our 250th birthday, and 17 months of positive results to elect good leaders in the 2026 midterms.

That combined momentum could bring two more years of positive change then a wise successor to Trump in 2028.
